*Except for in exceptional circumstances, Patreon will never issue a refund to a patron on your behalf.*
If you'd like to issue a refund to one of your patrons, you can do so any time you have an existing Patreon balance. As a best practice, if you're attempting to refund a transaction that is 3 months, or older, you’ll want to issue the refund offsite.
To refund a current or former patron, follow the steps:
Step 1: Head to your Patron Relationship Manager from the left-hand patrons menu:
Step 2: Find and click on the name of the patron you wish to refund:
Step 3: Once you've selected the patron you'd like to refund, scroll down to the payment history box that populates on the right-hand side of the page. Click the "refund" button next to the month of you wish to refund:
*If you are paid post creator, you'll see multiple payments per month based on a patron's monthly max
Step 4: You'll see a pop-up confirmation. Check the date and supported post that you need to refund. Please note that refunds are not reversible. Click "refund".
Step 5: The page will reload and you'll see their status updated from Processed to Refunded. The patron will receive an email confirmation and the refund will appear in their bank within 2-7 business days. If the patron does not receive it after a week, make sure that they confirm they have not previously disputed the charge offsite with their payment provider.
